Three To Get Deadly Book Summary

Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter in New Jersey, is tasked with bringing in a local cop, Joe Morelli's cousin, for failure to appear in court. The cop, Kenny Mancuso, is suspected of being involved in a bank robbery.

Stephanie's investigation leads her to the town's seamier side, where she encounters colorful characters and dangerous situations. She teams up with her sidekick, Lula, a former prostitute with a penchant for fast food and fashionable outfits.

With the information she gathers, Stephanie confronts Mancuso, but a sudden turn of events makes her a suspect in his murder. To clear her name and close the case, she delves deeper into the town's criminal underbelly.

As she navigates through the investigation, Stephanie must also handle her complicated love life, juggling feelings for Morelli and the enigmatic Ranger, who provides her with crucial support and information.

The case takes a personal turn when Stephanie's grandmother, armed with a shotgun, is involved in a standoff with Mancuso's partner, who had been using Mancuso to commit his crimes.

Stephanie finally gathers enough evidence to prove her innocence and Mancuso's partner's guilt. She brings the case to a close, but not without a few more scrapes and bruises along the way.

In the end, Stephanie's bond with Morelli deepens, and she continues her unconventional career as a bounty hunter, ready to take on whatever the streets of Trenton throw her way.

My Personal Opinion

Is Three to Get Deadly worth reading? Absolutely yes, I found it to be a thrilling and humorous novel that kept me hooked from start to finish. The blend of action and comedy is masterful and keeps the story engaging.

I particularly enjoyed the character of Stephanie Plum, whose witty narration and unconventional approach to bounty hunting makes her an endearing and relatable protagonist. The book’s fast pace and constant surprises left me eager to see what Stephanie would do next.

On the downside, I occasionally found the plot to be a bit predictable, and some of the characters, while entertaining, seemed more like caricatures than fully developed individuals. Nonetheless, I believe this book is perfect for readers who enjoy light-hearted mysteries and strong, independent female leads.
